This week, from the 12th to 16th May 2014, Sheffield-based company Lightworks are supporting the Archer Project Breakfast Club.
The Lightworks’ team are helping to serve breakfast throughout the week, with 2 different staff members volunteering each day.
Lightworks are one of the first businesses in Sheffield to sponsor the Breakfast Club scheme; on average, 50 homeless adults benefit from a hot breakfast every day, as well as the other key services that CAP offer, including medical treatment and education.
Tim Renshaw, CEO of CAP said, ‘We are delighted to welcome Lightworks as members of our Breakfast Club and have this opportunity to thank them for all their support this year. As well as all their fundraising activities, they will be coming in to serve breakfast. Lightworks are a great example of how you can get involved with a local charity and make a huge impact. They will be helping us to support our clients to change their lives.’
The CAP centre costs around £2,100 per day to run, so every donation helps. So far this year Lightworks’ team of four runners raised money for the project by completing the Sheffield Half Marathon. On 7th June 2014, another four members of their team will be completing the gruelling Ben Nevis charity challenge; they’ll climb Ben Nevis, cycle 25 miles and then canoe across Loch Lochy.
David Forrester, Chief Executive Officer at Lightworks said; ‘The Team and I look forward to volunteering at the Breakfast Club next week; it will be good to meet those that benefit from CAP’s hard work and our donations. We hope to break our fundraising targets in our 25th year, so we’ve decided to undertake our most physically-challenging charity challenge to-date, the Ben Nevis Challenge 2014. I’m pleased to say that training is going well, but it’s definitely going to be tough. Any donations to spur us on will be greatly appreciated by our team and those that benefit from CAP’s support.’
