The Just Works Well-being Programme


Can you help us to make sure that our Just Works well-being programme can continue to run remotely throughout the pandemic and beyond?

What is Just Works?


Just Works focuses on helping vulnerable adults achieve long term employment through the provision of internal paid work opportunities and supporting professional development towards long term career goals.

The programme has three core elements: earning an income; helping support people towards long term career goals; and the well-being programme.

In almost four years we have evidenced that all these elements are working and that our offer if unique.

What is the Well-being Programme?


The well-being programme is holistic and individually tailored to each individual so that they receive the specific support they need.

Key activities include:

  • 1:1 counselling sessions
  • Managing emotions sessions
  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Mindfulness
  • Physical exercise including running, tennis and boxing.


Who does the well-being programme help?


Just Works currently support 23 people (figure as of June 2020), who between them deliver almost 200 hours of paid work on a range of contracts.

All the individuals we support have a history of long term unemployment and have overcome challenging circumstances including homelessness, addiction, offending, human trafficking, domestic abuse and the vast majority also have associated mental and physical health conditions.

Included within Just Works is a women’s empowerment project which specifically aims to work with women who are at risk of homelessness, and who are overcoming some of the circumstances listed above.


How does the Well-being programme help?


The well-being programme helps because it provides a space where individuals can focus on building a happy and healthy life; it is about building security and resilience into their lives.


How you can help?


Our well-being offering mitigates the risk of regression and therefore it was necessary to adapt, expand and shift to a remote programme.
