On the 12th and 13th of August we had the fantastic yellow team from the Sheffield United Community Foundation helping us in the project.
The SUCF are working with the National Citizen Service who offer 15-17 year olds great opportunities to take on new challenges and learn new skills. They are working with the project ‘share your summer’ encouraging young adults to get involved with local charities and organisations in the Sheffield region.
Around 3 o’clock, the very enthusiastic team of 15 arrived with all their equipment ready to clean the project. They worked hard all afternoon cleaning the canteen area and showers, and it looked fantastic when they were finished.
The following day the yellow team brought 35 care packages in for our clients containing essentials such as canned food, socks and toothpaste. In addition they also donated an incredible 15kg of porridge!!
If this wasn’t enough they also did a sponsored walk in fancy dress on Friday 15th of August, raising £55.83 for the project.
It is brilliant to see young people engaging with the work we do here at CAP. Many of the team were excited about the prospect of volunteering with us and learning more about the work we do. Everyone received a certificate for their excellent contribution. Your help means we can continue to provide vital support for the homeless in Sheffield. THANK YOU!
