CUS staff attending Sleep Out

13/08/2015

On the 30th September Complete Utility Solutions are holding a ‘My Sleep Out’ event to raise awareness about homelessness and rough sleeping.

The brave lot will be sleeping out in their carpark for the evening and are getting sponsorship for their efforts!

‘My Sleep Out’ is an initiative launched by the Cathedral Archer Project and is a great way to raise funds to ensure CAP can keep on providing help for those most at risk. To get involved with ‘My Sleep Out’ you must give up your bed for the night and donate or get sponsored for your efforts.  All you really need is a sleeping bag and some friends. It could be a summer’s night sleeping in your garden with co-workers or perhaps at your local church or community centre. It really is up to you!

Rebecca Winn, Utilities Connections Manager, said of the companies’ involvement ‘We often take for granted the fact we have a bed and a safe space to rest our heads at night but this is not the case for everyone. We hope to get a small sense of what it is like for those who sleep rough every night and also raise money to help those in need.’

If you would like to donate to the ‘CU Sleepout’, then you can do so on their Just Giving page at https://www.justgiving.com/CU-SleepOut/.

If you would like to get involved in ‘My Sleep Out’, why not create your own event. If you are interested contact Ruby Baker at ruby.baker@sheffield-cathedral.org.uk.
