See what’s been happening at the Cathedral Archer Project.
We did it!
Tim, our CEO, Jade and Ruby from the marketing team and 10 of our fantastic supporters ran the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday.
It was tough for TeamCAP and the hills were relentless but the sun was shining and the support was amazing so got our team through!
Tim was especially pleased as he managed to run the 13.1 miles in an impressive 2 hours and 11 minutes.
Thank you to everyone who ran, sponsored or supported our team, we couldn’t have done it without you!
Can you help us?
Lynne, one of our long-standing volunteers who has been giving up her time and helping at the project for over 8 years is in need of a wheelchair. She struggles to walk but wants to continue to help as it is a great opportunity for her to get out of the house and make a difference in her local community.
Do you know someone who could help us and donate a wheelchair for Lynne to improve her quality of life?
Please get in touch with Jade on 0114 321 2318 if you can help.
A regular donation of £5 can be the start to help someone out of homelessness. £5 could pay for breakfast for someone and then from there they have access to all the other services we provide from medical care, clothing, showers and time with our project workers.
We asked some of our current regular givers why they give to us regularly and here is why:
'Every day I walk passed people asking for money by the train station, near the winter gardens and so on. I want to do something more constructive than just giving them loose change to spend who knows how, so looked for a local charity who worked with homeless people'
'I have a small but lovely bungalow and I give in appreciation of this. Also I think everyone has a right to a home of their own, regular giving helps Archer Project to plan their future budget'
'It’s easy to forget to donate and so doing it by direct debit makes sure I maintain my support for the project'
If you could help us in a small way by donating on a regular basis, you can make sure we can plan for the future and be there for whoever needs us, for as long as it takes.

An exhibition titled 'Beyond Street View' has been created by our photography group and will offer visitors unfamiliar perspectives on Sheffield’s people, buildings, streets and open spaces.
'Beyond Street View', a creative arts project led by national education charity The Open College of the Arts (OCA), was commissioned earlier this year as part of the city’s Off the Shelf Festival of Words.
This year is our second anniversary of Breakfast Club where businesses pay for a week of breakfasts at the project and then come in to serve it so they see first hand where their support is going.
We currently have 15 members who to date have donated a fantastic £19,034 to the project. This is the equivalent of over 4000 breakfasts- which is amazing! Thank you so much, you're making such a difference to the lives of people with very little.
Unify Business Solutions are the latest business to join.
For Eddie Bird and Adam Esposito, Joint Managing Directors of Unify Business Solutions, the charity was one close to their hearts.
"We were all very keen to help out the Archer Project. Our work in the prison system meant we saw first-hand the struggles that many people find on the street and how many people fall into a cycle of street life and crime. The Archer Project works with people to keep them off the streets, offering support, educational and volunteering opportunities. ”
If your business would like to join the club then please email Ruby for more information on email@example.com
