See what’s been happening at the Cathedral Archer Project.
On the 10th of October every year people across the world come together to mark World Homeless Day. This year the Cathedral Archer Project joined the event to raise awareness and understanding of homelessness but in a suitably unusual way.
Sainsbury’s Sheffield High Street Local has presented Cathedral Archer Project Ltd with a donation for £500.00.
Sleep Out- Friday, 5th of September.
On Friday 5th of September, a group of around 40 willing participants swapped their beds for sleeping bags and joined us at the Cathedral for the Archer Project Sleep Out. The aim being to raise awareness about homelessness and the impact sleeping rough can have. The Sleep Out was a huge success and we were overwhelmed by the support, motivation and enthusiasm of everyone who took part – thank you so much.
With under 3 weeks until the Cathedral Archer Project’s Sleep Out on the 5th September, things look to be shaping up for another successful event.
On the 12th and 13th of August we had the fantastic yellow team from the Sheffield United Community Foundation helping us in the project. The SUCF are working with the National Citizen Service who offer 15-17 year olds great opportunities to take on new challenges and learn new skills. They are working with the project ‘share your summer’ encouraging young adults to get involved with local charities and organisations in the Sheffield region.
